Periodically a crystal will spawn inside your base, use that crystal to recruit new powerful units to join the ranks of your faction's army. Defeat the enemy defenders to conquer the enemy markets and gain an income advantage over your enemies. Defeat one of the four powerful bosses to claim special units for your faction's army, bonus gold, and a powerful orb.
